Beta Releases

What are ‘Beta’ versions?

Sometimes we release ‘beta’ versions of our software to give you a chance to try out new features and provide feedback on them before they are released as fully supported product.

We advise against using beta versions of TScore or the tablet apps for actual competitions, as they have not been through a full regression test. VScore is generally safe to try though, as it doesn’t write anything back to the TScore database.  Be prepared to swap back to your previous version though if you bump into any bugs.

The beta versions are normally released as just a zipped executable with no installer, so you can just unzip them into any folder and run from there without replacing your existing TScore installation. If in doubt, remember that you can always take a copy of the TScore.exe file from C;|Program Files (x86)\TScore  and run that copy from any convenient folder. Note however that running an older version of TScore than the one used to create or open a competition database will often warn you about potential mismatches.
If in doubt, please contact support for advice.

Current Beta releases

There are currently 2 beta release products. We have an improved TScore Judge’s App, with convenient network connection options, and new version of TScore itself that can integrate with the Eurotramp HDTS / QIRA time of flight system, for fully automatic real-time ToF and HD results import.

TScore Judges App version 3.1.4

BETA RELEASE TScore Judge App v3.1.4 (4th Nov 2025)

This version is now an officially supported release and may be used at competitions.
Just going through final testing, so not for unsupervised use at events yet. We aim to test this at a live event mid-November, after which we should be able to make it generally available as a supported version.
This version has improved performance and better network connection stability, including direct launch of the Wi-Fi selection screen.

Bottom right is a button showing you the currently connected Wi-Fi.  When first run, you may have to click this, at which point Android will ask whether you will allow ‘Location Services’ to be accessed by the App. This permission is required for the app to detect the name and status of the Wi-Fi connection.  The app will run ok if you decline, but the new network features will not be available. The box will just show “SSID?”, indicating that it cannot retrieve any connectivity data. Clicking this box will sometimes be a handy ‘quick fix’ if your wi-fi has gone to sleep! In theory it should prevent the wi-fi from dropping into sleep mode too, but this will depend on the exact tablet you are running.

There is also a new button – Reconnect – at the top of the screen. We would have liked to be able to present a simple ‘click to re-join’ button, but mobile devices simply will not allow this for security reasons. Instead, when you click this button it will take you to the ‘Wi-Fi configuration’ screen from where yo can swap to the correct network, or just turn wi-fi off and on again to fully repair the connection.

TScore main program beta releases

The version 11.0.x beta releases below have all now been bundled into the released version 11.1.1.
QIRA integration must still be treated with caution though, until we have been able to try it at a ‘real’ competition.

TScore version 11.0.107

This version of TScore has a number of small fixes / enhancements and one major new feature.

The small (but handy) features are:

  • Filter the medallists report by start time
This lets you only list results for class starting at or after a chosen time.
Really great for when you are doing multiple presentations throughout the day
  •  Improved/fixed ‘Split panel’ classes.
Now you can do the Sets on one panel and the Vols on another in parallel!
  • Timetable conflict reporting improved – fewer false positives
  • Flights & times wrong in emails if ‘keep teams together’ has been set
  • Faster ‘Edit Class’ save operation

…and the big one is:

Eurotramp QIRA Time of flight integration

If you have the equipment, you can now directly send the results back to TScore in a fully integrated manner. Just ‘Start Scoring’ on the TScore tablet scoring screen as usual, and TScore will send athlete details to QIRA and receive the routine results from QIRA (ToF + HD) as soon as the ToF operator confirms a set of results. All of the per-move scores are returned, so changing the number of moves in TScore will automatically adjust E, H and T (or S) scores for a short routine.  As this is non-destructive, you can correct it if necessary later.

Full details of the integration, how to set up the new TScore web service and run the system can be found in the TScore-QIRA User Guide

Note that this beta does require a full installation, so be sure to take a safe copy of your existing TScore and VScore executables if you need to revert without having to do a full uninstall/reinstall.

You can download the 11.0.107 Beta version of TScore here.

Patch for the web service
The webservice in build 11.0.107 has a bug that sets number of moves to 1 for a full routine.
Please download and unzip this version 1.0.1 of the WebService. Run the TScoreWebService.exe in there, rather than the one previously installed
Web Service Version 1.0.1

There is also a little demo of the proof-of-concept here: https://youtu.be/_iS47K4NBwg

Notes:
You must use the new version of VScore (11.0.35)  if you are publishing results with per-skill ToF or Synchro. Older versions will report an error as each class is published.

The TScore Web-Service can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\TScore\TScore-WebService folder.  When you install it, Windows will prompt you to install the latest .NET8 runtime.
Just follow the links presented to download and install the Windows component.
