Yes! Just introduced at version 10.0.27, TScore is now able to read USAG files in addition to the existing BG GymNet files. It hasn’t had widespread testing yet, so we have had limited sample files to check against. If you hit problems with it, just feedback on the forums and we’ll contact you to get the sample files if that’s possible, Please don’t post your gymnasts details on here directly.

There’s a video here showing it in action

To use the feature, first create a new competition with the correct classes in (USAG or BG NDP). Then go to Import/Export and select ‘Import List of Competitors’, pick the Excel or CSV file and click OK.

TScore will try to match up the class names, levels and ages as best as possible. It will attempt to guess any missing classes, so you should check the classes list when it finishes, as these will not have qualification scores, dd scores etc configured correctly.

If your file really matches badly, you could end up trying to create more new classes than TScore can handle – you’ll get an ‘Unable to create more classes’ error if this happens.

There are some things you can do to help match up the names. Firstly, you can edit a couple of files in the classDefns\Lookups folder. These translate different representations of Ages and Grades into the expected format. They are fairly self-explanatory, but do note that there are separate files for USA and rest of world conversions. Also, the substitutions are made on the first match, so be careful of the order (e.g. ‘Level 10’ must precede ‘Level 1’ ).

If that doesn’t do enough, you can always create a custom copy of the class definition file.

If you get stuck, post a question on the forum.
