Processing Entry Forms

Once the competing clubs have returned their entry forms, you need to process them to load the entrants and officials.

First, create a folder on your computer for all the competition information and then create a sub-folder called 'Entries'. This is where you put all of the completed entry forms. (This is referred to later as the <Entries> Folder) As each entry form arrives (by email you hope - it's no fun copying from paper), check it for completeness and then drop it into the <Entries> folder. Now run TScore, create or connect to your competition and then click 'Edit This Competition'.
	You should now check that the Competition Entry Forms folder is set to your <Entries> folder. If not, either paste the pathname in, or click 'Change..' to set it. When you have done this, you should see your entry forms listed. (Double clicking in this list will let you view the file in Excel by the way!) Now click on 'Process Entries and TScore should do the rest for you.
As each entry form is processed, the number of entries read will appear in brackets after each filename.

If you had previously loaded entrants into the competition database, TScore will ask whether you want to Replace or Append to these entries.

TScore will perform an intelligent append / update of existing entrants, according to the following rules: 1. Does the BG Number match? 2. Does the competitors full name match?
If a matching record is found that has different values for some fields, you will be prompted to decide whether to update the record for that competitor
	Check that the updated details are correct and then click 'Change or 'Do Not Change' as appropriate. This will be repeated for every competitor that appears to match but whose details have changed. If you are confident that you know all of the changes, you can click 'Apply to All' before making your choice, in which case no further prompts will appear.
When processing is complete, TScore will create the initial list of trophies and officials and the programme list.
